HGTV Star Genevieve Gorder visited the Parade on Saturday, July 31 and brought spectacular energy, enthusiasm and a host of great design stories with her.  After helping to recognize M/I Homes for their 25th year of participation in the Parade,  she toured Kevin Knight and New England’s homes she joined WBNS 10TV award winners for a meet -and-greet at the M/I Homes Foundation House.  Her headline event at the Parade stage was hosted by design-centric Andrea Cambern from WBNS 10TV where their conversation delighted attendees and answered a wide-range of pressing issues from how tall she is (without heels, 5′10″) to where to find the fabric ‘that goes to die’ at discount prices!

The photos below are a sampling of those from the complete collection.

Countdown to the Parade with Weaver Custom Homes

Daisy Shamp from Weaver Custom Homes shares the inspiration behind their lower level. We’re wondering when we’ll all be invited over for the first football game (after the flat screen is installed of course!).

Many hands make light work… and a good Parade.

A working group has been developed for purposes of planning different aspects of the 2010 BIA Parade. The group consists of representatives from the BIA, various members of the New Albany community, as well as representatives from the site developer, The New Albany Company.

The group will meet regularly over the next several months to brainstorm ideas and plan the many exciting elements that will make this year’s Parade of Homes truly spectacular.

2010 Parade Builders Announced

The BIA of Central Ohio and the New Albany Company announced today the list of builders who have committed to building in this year’s BIA Parade of Homes at Ackerly Park.  The parade will run July 24 – August 8.

“This group of builders is a fantastic mix of veteran parade participants and brand-new ones,” said Jim Hilz, Executive Director, BIA of Central Ohio. “We welcome each of them to the largest single-site parade in Ohio and one of our proudest showcases of the talent of our central Ohio builders.”

The list includes (names link back to their web sites):

Bob Webb Homes

Dani Homes

Kevin Knight & Company

M/I Homes

New England Homes

Tuckerman Home Group

Weaver Custom Homes Inc.

The Zeppernick Company Custom Homes

“The location of this parade right in the center of New Albany makes it quite special because it is so convenient to dining, our schools, library and award-winning arts center,” said NACO President Bill Ebbing.  “We have worked with these builders to not only assure that this is a memorable parade, but the best start of what will be a truly dynamic new neighborhood in New Albany.  We look forward to their outstanding homes and the legacy that they will leave our entire community.”

M/I Homes will celebrate its 25th year as a parade participant, the longest of any builder in parade history.

Announcing the 2010 Parade: Ackerly Park in New Albany.

We’re pleased to announce that next year’s Parade (okay, we know we still aren’t finished with this year’s event, but why wait to share good news?) will take place at a beautiful site in the heart of the New Albany community: Ackerly Park.

In 1991 and 1992, the BIA Parade of Homes was one of the first opportunities for people to see the new New Albany community; the event also returned there in 1999.   The 2010 Parade site  is within walking distance of the majority of the New Albany community’s amenities:  Market Square, the school campus, several places of worshiop, and the McCoy Center for the Performing Arts.

If you are a builder interested in participating in next year’s Parade, let Jim Hilz at the BIA office know.  The lot selection will likely take place by the end of September/early October.

For a map of the site and the complete press release, visit the Ackerly Park page on this web site.   And help us welcome back the New Albany Company as a host developer for the Parade!
