Welcome to the builder video countdown to the Parade with Coppertree Homes, one of the 11 builders featured in this year’s Parade. Their parade home is in their words, “a real home, for a real buyer on a real budget.” Bob Gardner, President of Coppertree, explains more.
Every year, decorative paint takes center stage at the Parade, and this year is no different. Here are just a few elements we found (and one in progress – you’ll be ‘blown away’ by what she’s creating) as the final stages of interior design take place.
This WBNS 10TV segment with Tracy Townsend in her four-part “Building up to the Parade series,” focuses on flare and style illustrated throughout the homes’ decor. A blend of modern and traditional ideas make this year’s tour even more exciting for visitors as they can never know what to expect as they move from home to home. This video shows only a few of the thousands of decorating ideas featured at this year’s tour.

Sometimes, the most delightful ideas can come unexpectedly. Compass Homes, builder of the BIA Foundation House, found a late solution to finishing their garage floor which made everyone say “I want one of those!” Easy to clean, good enough for entertaining, durable and not terribly expensive. Compass is known for those little ideas that make living easier, but this may just be a big one! Come see it for yourself at the Parade.
This year’s parade builders are giving BUILT-IN some new meaning. From the ‘family management center’ to the key garage and reading/hiding nook to the elaborate closets, wine cellars, kitchen pantries, recessed wall for family photos, traditional book shelves and window seats, this year’s parade has kept the woodworkers hopping. Oh, and not to mention, gives professional organizers some new dreams.
In an earlier post, we wondered if we needed the house with the extraordinary living options that the builders are providing outside (kitchens, pizza ovens, etc). In this post, we wonder if you will need to leave your master suite. Pictured here, nestled between the three closets, is a full service coffee bar.
In this year’s parade homes entertaining will be a priority, if the real estate devoted to wine cellars and pubs is any indication (and lots of open spaces not pictured here). Below are a few of the spaces we found dedicated to those highly social moments in life.
Michael Edwards, designer of the Duffy home, explains the French Country style he’s embodied throughout the house. Here, he shows us the lighting fixtures he chose for the living/great room – a lovely two story centerpiece that would have been “the original” part of a home like this, had it been built in the early 1900s. The stone wall (see earlier entry) is behind the photographer, giving this room a truly grand feel.
Kitchens and bathrooms are the featured topic in this segment giving viewers a sneak peak at what some of these homes have to offer. During this tour, 10TV gives the inside scoop on what busy families find functional.
We aren’t trying to influence the judges, but we think that this may be one of the coolest sinks we saw on our tour this week. Nilay Bhatt, owner of Dani Homes, is shown in the mirror above this beautifully cut glass sink in his first floor powder room. Wait to you see the rest of his modern surprises.
