BIA Golf Classic 2020
COVID-19 has undoubtedly changed this year, and the annual BIA Golf Classic was no exception. Usually, a shotgun start, this year’s golf outing, was set up with tee times due to the pandemic. Held at The Ohio State University Golf Club, the day started a little cloudy, but the sun soon popped out, allowing morning golfers to enjoy the famous Gray Course.
Golfers filtered by the check-in table through the morning. There they were able to take hand sanitizer provided by Isaac Wiles, water bottles supplied by TASC Drywall, and a BIA cooler bag to fill with beverages.
Golfers seemed to be in high spirits. They took advantage of warming up on the putting green sponsored by Edwards/Mooney & Moses, utilizing the driving range sponsored by Eco-Seal Home Solutions found time to enjoy breakfast and lunch, sponsored by Isaac Wiles, before hitting the course.
“BIA events make it easy to meet people and make friends while I’m making great business connections.” Said Brenda VanMeter with Scrubbing Buddies Cleaning, LLC.
However, later in the afternoon, thunderstorms rolled through, forcing golfers to take shelter off the course, ultimately cutting the event short.
Unfortunately, the Scarlet golfers were unable to play their course due to storms. “I regret the weather, but there isn’t much that can be done,” said Scott Bowen with this year’s Awards sponsor, Titebond. “Thanks for putting on the event, and we will hope next year's weather is better.”
While the weather didn't hold up for the entire day, the time spent in the morning gave some golfers and sponsors a chance to connect.
“I had an opportunity to meet and connect with people in my industry. The event was fun and well run. My golfers team had a great time and are ready to sign up for next year's event!" Said VanMeter.
