In light of the recent order issued by the Governor, I wanted to touch base regarding BZS services. We are moving forward as is still doing inspections on commercial, multi-family and unoccupied residential structures and working remotely as best as possible. We are working with customers who call in to schedule residential inspections of any for occupied homes we are conducting inspections virtually through remote video or pictures. On line permitting is still available and customers can mail in plans and applications and we will review remotely to get started. We can hopefully issue permits on simpler projects although it may take a little more time. Andy Beard is working to do as much as possible remotely with site plans coordinating with folks from the various departments but obviously routing site plans is a bit more complicated. In terms of business here typically we see around 40 -50k in online business daily and since Thursday we have processed over 160k so folks are clearly using the online services. Inspections and address creations and volume was largely typical last week but today we have seen some sharp drops in those so the Governor’s order may be having some impact on those. I appreciate everyone’s patience as we adapt and things seem to change almost daily. I will continue to keep you all posted with any developments and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
