Grove City and the South-Western City School District have reached an agreement for the city to purchase property within the Beulah Park development for a new building to replace Brookpark Middle School.

In exchange, the city will purchase the Brookpark site at 2803 Southwest Blvd. for a nominal amount and use the building and site for recreational programming.

Grove City Council is expected to hold a public hearing and vote on legislation to authorize the agreement and the property purchases Oct. 7.

The South-Western school board approved the agreement Sept. 9.

Grove City will purchase parcels totaling 18.4 acres south of the Columbus Street extension, north of Grove City Road and east of Demorest Road for the new school, Mayor Richard “Ike” Stage said.
